This week on the blog I am sharing some of my favorite handstand walk development drills! The handstand walk and all of its endless training drills and progressions are beyond beneficial for building a super strong, stable, robust trunk/core, shoulder girdle, and more. No matter what fitness and/or skill level you are at or where you are at on your fitness and wellness journey, investing your time in developing your own bodyweight strength, stability, and mobility through handstand progression drills is a guaranteed path to fitness and fun success.

Coaching tips no matter what variation you choose to do:

  1. Set hands shoulder width apart
  2. Stack your shoulder over your elbow and wrist
  3. Stay strong in your plank position maintaining straight arms
  4. Block away from the floor
  5. Keep your hips in line with your shoulders if elevating feet on a box or a bench
  6. Hips and shoulders should stay squared to the floor or straight ahead to the wall depending on what variation your perform throughout with as little shifting from side to side as possibleĀ
