/// 7 Things You Can Do To Improve Your Mindset During a MidLife Crisis ///

I am excited to be teaming up, once again, with Amanda Henderson of safechildren.info!

The term mid-life crisis simply refers to a point in your life when you start to think negatively about the choices you’ve made. You may feel depressed, anxious, or unable to think positively. If/when you reach that state, both Nicole Zapoli of NZ Fitness and Amanda Henderson of Safe Children.info, invite you to consider any of these seven things you can do to help improve your mindset.

1. Take a Long Vacation

When was the last time you put everything else aside and had a real vacation? You need time to disconnect from the stress of daily life and go somewhere that allows you to relax. Take that long vacation you’ve been thinking about, and go somewhere you’ve never been. Elite Daily says to not be afraid to be spontaneous. Take your family with you and use that opportunity for some highly memorable quality time. Make sure you check out from work and use the time to reset.

Consider going on a trip that will make you feel like a kid again, like going to a Disney theme park. Learn how to save on all things Disney when visiting Disneyland by checking out Mouse Life Today, which also has tourist news and a rewards program.

2. Find a New Job

Are you dissatisfied with your career? Think about making a career move. You could even start your own business. It’s a great way to feel good about yourself and get a fresh start. To maximize your chance of success, create a business plan that includes your plans for the company, such as product or service descriptions, business structure, financial projections, and your plans for funding. This helps you stay on track and organized. Not surprisingly, starting a business will take a lot of work and dedication, so make sure you know exactly which steps you need to take.

3. Give Back by Starting a Nonprofit

A great way to boost your mood and feel like you’re part of a community is to give back. For example, start a nonprofit organization. Dedicating yourself to a greater cause gives you a feeling of purpose. The National Council of Nonprofits notes to make sure you use nonprofit accounting software to keep your financial statements in order. You can track invoices going in and out, donations, and all other bookkeeping necessities, where you can create your own custom reports.

4. Move Somewhere New

Maybe your location is causing you grief. Think about moving somewhere you’ve always wanted to live. Before you put your home on the market, you need to have it inspected for any necessary repairs or updates. For example, have a plumber check the pipes. Keep in mind that buyers are easily deterred by outdated windows and a lack of curb appeal.

When you’re ready to start searching for homes, consider how hot the housing market is in your new location, and what homes are going for to gauge affordability.Peruse online listings for your new location and filter by home type, price range, and number of bedrooms and bathrooms.

5. Make Time for Family and Friends

Have you been so career-driven that you’ve neglected time spent with your loved ones? Make up for it by designating one night a week just to spend time together. You can make it a family dinner where everyone comes together to cook and catch up. Watch a movie with your kids or go to eat with your spouse. Quality time feeds the soul and the relationship.

6. Enjoy Some Retail Therapy

Sometimes all you need is some retail therapy. If you’re a person that gets a high from shopping and bringing home something new, allow yourself to do that as long as it isn’t detrimental to your finances. Shopping can help you feel a sense of control over life and bring you happiness. While it generally isn’t a permanent solution, it can bring you some temporary joy.

Before going on your personal shopping spree, take some time to research products that can contribute to your overall wellness. Look into kitchen appliances or exercise equipment and read unbiased reviews to get a sense of what may work for you. It never feels good to buy something that doesn’t end up meeting your needs or expectations.

7. Blog With WordPress

Also consider starting a blog using WordPress. WordPress is a flexible and user-friendly platform that allows you to express yourself with the help of a ton of high-end themes. Although you can design your own blog, many people reach out to a WordPress expert for a professional approach to develop your site, as well as for ongoing updates.

As you navigate this difficult time, remember you will have ups and downs. Try some of these steps when you need that added bit of extra strength to push forward.
