Let’s talk active recovery!

…because recovery doesn’t always mean lying on the couch (even though we love a good rest day nap too).

This week, I’m sharing a 10-minute flexibility flow you can follow along with on the Strict Strength YouTube Channel. Whether you’re sore from your latest training session or just looking to restore some balance in your body, this flow is a perfect reset.

What is a Flexibility Flow?

Think of it as your body’s love language. It’s a gentle, intentional sequence designed to improve mobility, release tension, and help you feel reconnected with your body. No high volume reps. No sweat puddles. Just smart, strong movement that supports recovery and long-term progress.

Why Active Recovery Matters

Here’s the thing: progress doesn’t just happen when you train hard. It also happens when you recover well. Giving your body space to heal, replenish, and recalibrate is essential if you want to move better, train harder, and stay consistent.

This flow will:

  • Help increase blood flow to sore muscles
  • Gently stretch tight areas (especially hips, shoulders, and spine)
  • Improve mobility through controlled movement
  • Reduce muscle stiffness and soreness
  • Calm your nervous system
  • Leave you feeling like a mobile, graceful ninja (okay, maybe not instantly—but we’re working on it)

Everyone. Yep! Whether you’re a beginner, an athlete, a coach, or someone who just wants to move better and feel good in your body, this flow is accessible and adaptable. Got 10 minutes? That’s all you need.

When To Use It

  • On your active recovery days
  • Post-workout cooldown
  • First thing in the morning
  • Before bed to wind down
  • Any time you need to unplug, unwind, and give your body some love
